William Azar qualifies to run for Elmore County Commisssion district 3

For over twenty years Bill Azar has been an advocate for hunderds of people and businesses in a varity of legal problems. As an attorney pursuing peoples rights, solving problems and negociating issues is what he has done as a professional career. "I would like to take that same expertise and knowlegde to the Elmore County commission and help keep Elmore county growing in a positive way. My years practicing law has trained me to be a professional advocate by looking out for the rights of others. Moreover I have learned what it takes to bring people together in a reasonable way to negociate issues and solve problems. As a commissioner my door will always be open. If you call me I will return your call. I will meet with you if necessary to look at the problem and I will do everything reasonable to solve the problem. I want to keep up the progress that has been made in Elmore county thus far and I will fight to protect our homes, our jobs and our way of life in Elmore County.

ON THE ISSUES
Public Safety
I am strong a supporter of providing adequate resources to law enforcement and fire fighters. With the surge in population growth in Elmore County comes increase in crime. We must make a stand against crime to deter the criminal element.
Road Maintaince
Keeping up with the growing demands in maintaining our roads is a tremendous challege for the County. This will require continued cost effective use of our resources to keep roads in good repair.
Balanced Budget
I support the current conservative money managment policies implemented thus far. Pay as you go along. No long-term bond indebtedness. Stretch the dollar as far as you can.
Montgomery Occupational tax
I will fight any attempt by Montgomery County to impose an occupational tax on Elmore County workers
Juvenile Detention Center
I support the construction/operation of a juvenile detention center. There must be a process in place whereby young offenders can be "turned around" before they are sent into a system that practically guarantees they will become career criminals. Our young are our future and we must take steps to help these persons from becoming a liability to becoming productive members of society.
Illegal immigration
I will fight illegal immigration by supporting local ordiances to stem the tide of illegals. I recognize that illegals do provide a good work force however there needs to be a system in place that will account for the illegals that want to work and tax their wages. However, I oppose giving any goverment benefits to them and any legislation that gives illegals citizenship.
Business Growth
I strongly support business growth for existing businesses and new businesses. Business growth helps build our tax base and provides opportunity for jobs. Sales tax rebates or tax credits are one way to provide incentives for businesses.
Taxes
I oppose any tax increase.
Subdivision/land development
I support reasonable guidelines for subdivision and land development. This is necessary to ensure that infrastructure is constructed in a quality manner so that the county is not overly burden with maintance issues, a cost ultimately passed on to the taxpayers. |
